About Airdrop
Miden is an edge-native blockchain designed to solve the long-standing scalability, privacy, and security limitations of traditional Layer 1 systems. Built by the creators of the Zero-Knowledge (ZK) Miden VM, the project shifts both execution and state to the client side, pushing smart contract activity to the “edge” of the network. This decentralization of compute enables users to execute and prove their own transactions locally using ZK proofs, drastically reducing the strain on the main chain and eliminating the need for re-execution.
With Miden, privacy becomes a feature, not a compromise. Users retain full control of their transaction data through self-custodied state and off-chain execution. In addition, Miden’s architecture introduces enhanced security by minimizing attack surfaces and enabling safe smart contract development in Rust, with native support for account abstraction and secure asset management. Altogether, Miden represents a new class of blockchain infrastructure—one that delivers true scale without sacrificing transparency or decentralization.
The momentum around Miden is accelerating, especially following its recent $25 million funding round announced on April 29. As the network gears up for its full testnet launch, early contributors and developers already have the chance to start experimenting with core functionality.
This early access phase is crucial for identifying early bugs, exploring the Miden VM environment, and building familiarity with edge execution logic. Users who engage now not only help refine the system but may also position themselves for future incentives. With a community-led approach to testing and real transaction mechanics in place, the Miden Testnet offers a practical and educational gateway into the future of edge blockchain infrastructure.
